This project was done for the ENT 101 -Character Design Mentorship at Visual Arts Passage with Jon Neimeister.
The assignment was to come up with a character concept and take it from initial ideation to final completion.
I appreciate all the the feedback from Jon during the process.
Character Description:
A slightly insane man in a cyberpunk world.
Hendrix can often be found on the streets of the city.
He gathers audio and visual information through the use of implants and drone units, parses it and saves it, then sometimes sells it to pay for tech, repairs, power cells, and pharmaceutical ‘enhancements.’ Sometimes he uses the information to have a varying degree of foresight into events around him, around the district, around the city, and even farther away.
It’s amazing to his clients what he knows, which is seemingly something of just about everything.
Unfortunately it’s not always clearly delivered.
The sheer amount of data he collects necessitates the use of various pharmaceutical concoctions, some of his own devise, to be able to sift through, scrub, catalog, and be able to retrieve or interconnect with any measure of accuracy. The amount of data he combs though and his use of drugs contribute to his somewhat un-sane mannerisms and personality. As well as odd physical ticks.
Hendrix stores large amounts of data in permanently attached storage devices and an even larger amount in detached or ancillary drives that he carries around with him at all times. One never knows what information may come in handy and when.
It is believed by many that he is ex-military, that his infatuation with information and the beginning of his merging with tech began there, and that his time in service still defines much of who he is and his motives. As well as his knack and instincts for survival.
